Several Cal Water Polo Players Shine at U.S. Nationals

Several Cal water polo players, both past and present, were involved in the 2010 USA Water Polo Men's National Championships this past Aug. 6-8 in Orange County. In the championship match, Jeff Tyrrell and his New York Athletic Club team upended the San Francisco Olympic Club, 11-5. Members of the Olympic Club with Cal connections included assistant coach and goalie Sean Nolan and members of the Bears' 2006 and 2007 national championship squads - Spencer Warden, Mark Sheredy, Frank Reynolds, Kevin Platshon, Adam Haley, Brian Bacharach and Zac Monsees. Cal's Lamorinda Club Team, which placed third, had current Bears Wil Toppen, Zach White, Brian Dudley, Ivan Rackov, Charlie Steffens, Cory Nasoff, Zach Greenwood, Scott Siegel, Steve Giahos and Marker Anderson.
