More signs of the New York trip's positive bounce for the conference:
Andy Staples on SI.com weighs in with Pac-10 Rebrands its image, giving praise to new Pac-10 commisioner Larry Scott.
In the article, Scott says: "'Cal is a microcosm of what's happening across our conference and, frankly, across the country. So I feel a tremendous responsibility and pressure, in a sense. ... There is more pressure on schools and conferences to be entrepreneurial, to pay for themselves."
ESPN's Ted Miller said the commitment to bi-coastal media day "is already accomplishing what it intends to do this week -- to use Scott's phrase -- 'telling our story more aggressively and in a more dynamic way.'"
Heard Commisioner Scott's voice yet? Here's a podcast also from ESPN.
That's the skinny from NY. Was I there? No, I follow Sandy Barbour on Twitter!
