Weaver and Wi Fall Shy of Qualifying for U.S. Open

Current Cal golfer Michael Weaver and former Golden Bear Charlie Wi fell shy of qualifying for the 2010 U.S. Open Championship field during section qualifying action at the par-70, 7,121-yard Del Paso Country Club in Sacramento on Monday.

Weaver finished with a 36-hole total of two-under par 140 after shooting a two-under 69 on his first 18 holes and coming back with an ever-par 71 on his second 18.

Wi was one-under 141 for 36 holes after matching Weaver's two-under 69 on the first 18 holes and shooting a one-over 71 on his second 18.

As of posting, the event was still ongoing.
