Final results from Friday's second round of action at the 2010 NCAA San Diego Regional are in and Cal will head into Saturday's final day of action two shots behind tournament leader Oregon. Cal freshman Michael Weaver remains in the hunt for individual medalist honors and is currently tied for fourth place at even-par for the tournament and four strokes off the lead after shooting a two-over par 74 on Friday.
The Ducks have a 36-hole team eight-over par team score of 584 and lead the 10-over par Golden Bears by two strokes. UNLV (+12), Augusta State (+13) and Tennessee (+14) round out the top five. The top five teams (and the lowest scoring individual not from one of those five squads) qualify for the NCAA Championships being held June 1-6 at The Honors Course in Chattanooga.
The remainder of the 13-team field trying to move into a spot to earn a berth in the NCAA's includes Central Florida (+20), host San Diego State (+22), New Mexico State (+22), UC Irvine (+24), Missouri (+26), NCAA host Chattanooga (+27), Arizona (+28) and Oral Roberts (+30).
Weaver is one of four golfers four strokes off the pace of second-round leader Nick Delio of Cal State Northridge, who is at four-under par for the tournament after a three-under round of 69 on Thursday. UNLV's Eddie Olson and Oregon's Daniel Miernicki are tied for second one shot back at three-under.
