In the latest update from the NCAA San Diego Regional, Cal has risen into second place according to the modified version of the Golfstat Live Scoring system with a current team score of 10-over par (four-over today). The Golden Bears now trail only leader Oregon (+8) and have moved past UNLV (+12) and Tennessee (+13) and Central Florida (+20) since the last update that showed the Bears in fifth. Augusta State (+13) has actually moved into a tie for fourth with Tennessee and the five squads are seven shots ahead of sixth-place Central Florida in the quest to finish in the top five and qualify for the 2010 NCAA Championships being held June 1-6 at The Honors Course in Chattanooga, Tennessee.

Michael Weaver remains Cal's top golfer in the latest update and is in the thick of things for the individual lead. Weaver is tied for fourth at even-par for the tournament (+2 today) and one of four golfers three off the pace set by tri-leaders Eddie Olson Daniel Miernicki and Nick Delio at three-under overall.
