Cal's Eric Mina will head into the final day of action at the 2010 Pac-10 Men's Golf Championship in third place at 13-under par after shooting a four-under par 67 on Tuesday.
Mina, who started on the 10th hole, got to four-under after his first 14 holes with birdies on 10, 14, 16 and 5. He bogeyed six but immediately got the stroke back with a birdie on seven and then closed out his round with back-to-back pars. Check out Mina's third round hole-by-hole.
Mina went into the clubhouse one shot behind both Arizona State's Jesper Kennegard and Stanford's Joseph Bramlett, but is now four shots off the pace of Kennegard and two behind Bramlett. Kennegard birdied three of his seven birdies on the day over the final six holes to improve to 17-under for the tournament and shot a 67 on Tuesday despite a double-bogey on nine and a bogey on 12. Bramlett put together birdies on 16 and 17 to get to 16-under but gave a stroke back when bogeyed 18 to complete his third round at 15-under for the tournament after his third consecutive 66.
Follow the Bear Blog on Wednesday as Mina attempts to become the first Cal men's golfer to win Pac-10 medalist honors since Charlie Wi captured the title in 1995. No other Golden Bear has ever won the title.
As a team, Cal is in ninth place at nine-under par (347-357-352 - 1056) for the tournament after shooting a three-under par team score of 352 on Tuesday.
