Did you know that with the selection of Tyson Alualu (Jacksonville, 10th overall) and Jahvid Best (Detroit, 30th overall) in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft on Thursday ...

For the first time ever, Cal had two players selected in the first round of the NFL Draft while no other Pac-10 school had a player chosen. Cal actually became the first Pac-10 school since 1970 to have two players selected in the NFL Draft while no other Pac-10 school had a player picked. The last time that happened was when USC defensive end Al Cowlings (Buffalo, 5th overall) and offensive tackle Sid Smith (Kansas City, 26th overall) were both taken in the first round and were the only Pac-10 players selected.
Cal was the only school from the Pac-10 to have a player drafted in the first round in 2010
Cal was one of eight schools nationally who had more than one player drafted in the first round in 2010 (Oklahoma 4, Florida 3, Alabama 2, Cal 2, Georgia Tech 2, Oklahoma State 2, Rutgers 2, Tennessee 2)
Cal has been the only Pac-10 school with a player selected in the first round of the NFL Draft in two of the last four years ... Former Golden Bear tailback Marshawn Lynch (Buffalo, 12th overall) was the only Pac-10 player selected in the first round of the 2007 NFL Draft
