Thursday was a big day for the Cal football program when former Golden Bears defensive end Tyson Alulau (Jacksonville, 10th overall) and tailback Jahvid Best (Detroit, 30th overall) were selected in the first round of the 2010 NFL Draft. But there are several other Cal players hoping to be drafted during the final six rounds of the draft Friday and Saturday or picked up as a free agent in the coming days.

NFL.com lists wide receiver Nyan Boateng, offensive tackle Mike Tepper, cornerback Syd'Quan Thompson and wide receiver Verran Tucker as Cal's remaining prospects. But other 2009 seniors with ambitions of playing football professionally include linebacker Desmond Bishop, safety Marcus Ezeff, fullback Brian Holley, safety Brett Johnson, offensive linemen Chet Teofilo and linebacker Eddie Young.
