Johnson has been in Cal’s lineup for much of the campaign as a fifth-year senior in 2013-14 after redshirting last season. He contributed back-to-back career-best third-place showings at the Jack Nicklaus Invitational and Alister MacKenzie Invitational and played in all five events in the fall. In the first two events of the spring, he had back-to-back tied for eighth-place finishes at the Arizona Intercollegiate and John A. Burns Intercollegiate. Johnson also made significant contributions in his first season at Cal in 2011-12 following her transfer from Cal Poly. Johnson played in eight events and 24 rounds in his first season with the Golden Bears, including the NCAA Stanford Regional and NCAA Championship to help Cal to a victory and semifinal showing, respectively. Johnson also had a strong amateur showing during the 2013 calendar year, winning three events and ending the year as the No. 16 ranked amateur in California.
