KHANTY-MANSIYSK, Russia – Cal sophomore Roser Tarrago scored three goals to lead Spain into the semifinals of the FINA Women’s Water World Cup with a 12-2 victory over South Africa on Friday.

Tarrago, who earned 2014 All-American honorable mention with the Bears, now has 15 goals to lead all scorers at the tournament. Spain won the Gold Medal at the European Championships last month and captured the title at last year’s FINA World Championships.

Fellow Cal sophomores Dora Antal and Anna Illes played in the quarterfinals for Hungary, which fell 8-6 to China on Friday. Antal was the 2014 MPSF Newcomer of the Year and a First Team All-American.

Spain will play Australia in Saturday’s semifinals. Hungary plays Singapore in a consolation bracket game.
