TEMPE, Ariz. – Freshman Roser Tarrago scored two late goals but the No. 4 Cal women’s water polo team couldn’t complete a comeback and fell 6-5 at No. 6 Arizona State on Saturday.

Fellow freshman Dora Antal also scored two goals for the Bears (17-6, 2-3 Mountain Pacific Sports Federation), who fell behind 3-0 and 6-3 before almost forcing overtime.

Tarrago scored a goal with six seconds left in the third quarter to shave the Sun Devils’ lead to 6-4. She found the back of the net again with 4:57 remaining in the game to make it 6-5, but the Bears were silenced after that.

Freshman goalie Madeline Trabucco made 10 saves for the Bears. Freshman driver Anna Illes also scored for Cal.
