Four Cal women’s water polo players have been selected to compete in the Futures 50 Classic later this month at Foothill High School in Santa Ana, Calif.

Junior Michelle Caron and freshmen Madeline Trabucco, Stephanie Mutafyan and Emily Loughlin were part of the 15-member group that was selected by U.S. National Team coach Adam Kirkorian after open tryouts that took place Sept. 21-22 at four locations across the country.

The Futures 50 Classic will be held Oct. 25-27.

Caron played in 22 of Cal’s 24 matches as a sophomore last season and scored 14 goals.

Loughlin and Mutafyan have been members of the U.S. Youth National Team and were each part of the Bears’ 13-player roster that competed at the World University Games last summer in Kazan, Russia. Trabucco was a NISCA/Speedo All-American at Santa Barbara High School.
