REDWOOD SHORES, Calif. - California men's crew completed a perfect weekend in the Stanford Invitational with three more victories on Sunday at Redwood Shores.
Cal captured all seven of the races it competed in, highlighted by victories over No. 11 Wisconsin in the varsity eight, second varsity eight and freshman eight on Saturday.
"We were happy with our performance overall the entire weekend," said California head coach Mike Teti. "Our assistant coach Patrick Schulkers does an exceptional job with our development boats and they looked sharp today with three big victories to complete the weekend. We will try to get healthy overall and continue to improve before heading north next weekend."
The Golden Bears' fourth varsity eight opened Sunday's racing for Cal with a victory over Oregon State (6:06.2), completing the 2,000-meter course in 5:58.7.
Cal's second freshman boat posted a time of 5:59.4 to defeat Orange Coast College (6:05.4) by six seconds.
In the Bears' final race of the day, Cal's third varsity beat Orange Coast College with a time of 5:55.1 to OCC's 6:03.9.
Cal will head to Seattle next Saturday to face top-ranked Washington in the 102nd annual battle for the Schoch Cup. Racing is set to begin at 10 a.m.
