2010 (Freshman): Rowed on the second-place varsity 4+ at the NCAA Championships...came in third on the junior varsity 8+ at the Pac-10 Championships.

Personal: Intends to major in integrative biology...while rowing for the San Diego Rowing Club while in high school, made the varsity 8 as a novice after winning the Indoor Classic for the novice women in 2007-08...also played water polo, volleyball and soccer while at Mount Carmel High School...hopes to one day go to medical school and work in sports medicine...parents are Stany and Toni Helsssen...has a brother...born on July 22, 1991, in San Diego.

The best part about being on Cal crew is: The team. Our team works hard and has fun doing it.

My greatest achievement was: Going through the repechage at NCAA in 2011 and still placing top 3 in the grand finals.

I chose Cal because: It offers the highest level of academics and athletics.
