California: 2012 (Freshman): Rowed on Cal's freshman eight that won a Pac-12 Championship and beat Stanford and Washington.

Personal: Won gold in the junior varsity 8+ and in the 4+ at the 2011 SWJRC, took silver in the novice eight at the 2010 SWJRC ... rowed for the Marin Rowing Association and was the novice team captain in 2009-10 ... while at Marin Academy High School, was the goalie on the varsity soccer team for two years ... lists playing the guitar and backpacking as hobbies ... tutors third graders at the Oakland Asian Students Educational Services (OASES) ... worked in wedding photography in Chicago last summer with her uncle ... participated in Amigos de las Americas in Panama in the summer of 2010 ... parents are Scott and Jessica Gerber ... grandfather, Mort Raphael, attended Cal ... has two sisters ... sister, Nina, rows at Washington ... undeclared major.

The best part about being on Cal crew is: The team environment because every really wants to be here and get faster.

I chose Cal because: I knew that it is a place I can be challenged academically and athletically.
