Women's basketball player Avigiel Cohen and men's gymnastics head coach Brett McClure will join Cal basketball head coaches Mike Montgomery and Lindsay Gottlieb on this week's edition of Inside the Locker Room presented by Weatherford BMW of Berkeley. The men's basketball team (12-4, 3-0) picked up back-to-back wins at Oregon and Oregon State last week and have now won the first three conference games this season. The Bears return to Berkeley this week to face Washington and Washington State. Cal takes on the Huskies first on Wednesday, Jan. 15, at 8 p.m. at Haas Pavilion. The game can be seen on ESPNU. The No. 19 women's basketball team is 12-3 after back-to-back wins at Colorado and Utah last week. The Bears are currently enjoing a five-game winning streak. Cal remains on the road this week, heading to Arizona State and Arizona. The Bears meet the Sun Devils first on Friday, Jan. 17, at 10 a.m. Monday's game at Arizona, scheduled for a 2 p.m. tipoff, will be broadcast on the Pac-12 Networks.
McClure and the men's gymnastics team lost to Stanford in the season-opening dual meet last Saturday at Haas Pavilion. The Bears will get a second chance against the Cardinal as they will meet in another dual meet, this time on The Farm, on Saturday, Jan. 18, at 4 p.m.
Hosted by Todd McKim, Inside the Locker Room features guests from throughout Cal Athletics. In the winter, listeners can expect to hear from Montgomery and Gottlieb each week, along with basketball players. In addition, student-athletes and coaches from Cal’s Olympic sports and others with Golden Bear ties will make regular appearances.
