Hagy Joins Dykes On Radio This Week

Cal men's swimming and diving head coach Dave Durden and men's golfer Brandon Hagy will appear on this week's edition of Inside the Locker Room presented by Weatherford BMW of Berkeley with football head coach Sonny Dykes, defensive tackles coach Barry Sacks and running back Jeffrey Coprich. Fans are invited to tune in to Cal’s weekly radio show on KGO AM 810 or watch in person from the Field Club inside Memorial Stadium. The program will air on Wednesday each week from 7-8 p.m. through March.

The 1-4 Cal football team faces a top-25 team for the fourth time this season when the Bears face No. 11/13 UCLA at the Rose Bowl on Saturday, Oct. 12, at 7:30 p.m. The game will be broadcast on ESPN2, or Cal fans can tune in to KGO AM 810 or listen live on TuneIn. 

Hagy and the men's golf team recently garnered dominating victories in the St. Mary's Invitational and the Jack Nicklaus Invitational. Cal, which was the top-ranked team in the country last season, won by 30 strokes at the Saint Mary's Invitational. Hagy finished third (-5) behind teammate Michael Weaver who came in second (-6). On Monday, Oct. 14, and Tuesday, Oct. 15, Cal will host the MacKenzie Invitational in Sonoma.

Durden and the Bears knocked off Pacific, 149-104, in Berkeley last Thursday. Jeremy Bagshaw and Tyler Messerschmidt picked up multiple wins on the day to lead the Bears to victory. The next three meets will also take place at Cal. Next up, the Bears host Indiana on Friday, Oct. 11, at 1 p.m.

Hosted by Todd McKim, Inside the Locker Room features guests from throughout Cal Athletics. In the fall, listeners can expect to hear from Dykes each week, along with players and assistant coaches. In addition, student-athletes and coaches from Cal’s Olympic sports and others with Golden Bear ties will make regular appearances.

Fans coming to the Field Club should enter Memorial Stadium through Gate 2 at the northwest corner of the facility. Cal Dining will offer food for sale, including such items as hamburgers, hot dogs, wings, Portobello sandwiches and sweet potato fries.
