Cal football head coach Sonny Dykes and the Golden Bears' Director of Athletics Sandy Barbour will appear on the debut of Inside the Locker Room presented by Weatherford BMW of Berkeley, Cal’s weekly radio show on KGO AM 810, Wednesday, Aug. 28, from 7-8 pm. Fans are invited to tune in or watch in person from the Field Club inside Memorial Stadium. The program will air on Wednesday each week from 7-8 p.m. through March.
In addition to Dykes and Barbour, Cal football offensive coordinator Tony Franklin and the Bears' linebacker Jalen Jefferson will also be on the show, as well as volleyball head coach Rich Feller.
The Sonny Dykes era begins this Saturday when Cal faces No. 22 Northwestern at Memorial Stadium at 7:30 p.m. PDT. If you can't make it to the game, you can either watch on ESPN2 or tune in to KGO AM 810.
Feller and the Cal volleyball team begins the 2013 campaign in Berkeley for the Cal Molten Classic from Friday, Aug. 30-Sat. Aug. 31. The Bears will be joined in the tournament by Nevada, New Mexico State and UC Santa Barbara.
Hosted by Todd McKim, Inside the Locker Room features guests from throughout Cal Athletics. In the fall, listeners can expect to hear from Dykes each week, along with players and assistant coaches. In addition, student-athletes and coaches from Cal’s Olympic sports and others with Golden Bear ties will make regular appearances.
Once the basketball seasons get underway, men’s coach Mike Montgomery and women’s coach Lindsay Gottlieb will join McKim on the program.
Fans coming to the Field Club should enter Memorial Stadium through Gate 2 at the northwest corner of the facility. Cal Dining will offer food for sale, including such items as hamburgers, hot dogs, wings, Portobello sandwiches and sweet potato fries.
