Eight Bears To Compete At U-23 World Championships

U-23 competition to take place July 24-28 in Austria

BERKELEYEight members of California men’s crew will represent their countries at the Under-23 World Rowing Championships July 24-28 in Linz-Ottensheim, Austria.

Senior Carter Crowe will represent the United States and Edward Williams and James Edwards will represent Great Britain in the 8+ at the U-23 World Rowing Championships.

Rowing for Australia in the 4- will be Aaron Wright and Louis Snelson. Junior Michael Bernerius will compete for Australia in the U-23 World Championships in the 4+.

Senior Igor Lucic and junior Luka Dordevic will represent Azerbaijan in the five-day event in Austria. 

The U-23 World Championships continue a busy summer for current and former Cal rowers. Earlier this summer, four former Golden Bears competed at the World Rowing Cup #3 at the Rotsee in Lucerne, Switzerland. Zach Vlahos, Nareg Guregian and Will Dean and Spencer Crowley, each represented the Golden Bears in the world championships. Vlahos and Guregian served in the United States eight that captured the gold medal and Dean and Crowley were members of Canada’s four that placed third in the B final.
