Bears Tangle With Huskies Saturday In Seattle

SEATTLE - Cal continues its tour of the Evergreen State on Saturday with a noon (PT) matchup in Seattle against Washington. The Bears are making their first trip to Alaska Airlines Arena at Hec Edmundson Pavilion since Jan. 19, 2012, a 69-66 Cal victory.

Coming off an 80-76 overtime win at Washington State in Pullman on Wednesday, the Bears are 16-8 overall and 7-4 in the Pac-12 tied for third in the league with Arizona State. Cal has won two of its last three meetings with Washington, posting an 82-56 victory at home earlier this season and a 69-66 win in its last visit to Seattle in 2012.

Saturday’s game will be televised on the Pac-12 Networks with Rich Cellini (play-by-play), Dan Belluomini (analyst) and Jill Savage (reporter) on the call. The Cal/IMG radio network will broadcast the action on KGO 810 AM in the Bay Area beginning at 11:30 a.m. (PT) with Todd McKim (play-by-play) and Jay John (analyst). GOLDEN BEAR NOTES

• Cal’s four returning starters (Justin Cobbs (16.3 ppg.), David Kravish (11.8 ppg.), Tyrone Wallace (11.8 ppg.) and Richard Solomon (11.5 ppg.)) are contributing 67.1 percent (1209-of-1801) of the Bears’ points this season.

• Justin Cobbs is the Pac-12’s active career assist leader with 471 in his third season at Cal after transferring from Minnesota. He ranks fifth in school history in career assists, just 23 behind Jason Kidd (494 assists from 1992-94). Cobbs is tied for 14th nationally in assists at 6.0 apg.

• At 11.5 ppg. and 10.5 rpg., Richard Solomon is one of two individuals (Tennessee’s Jarnell Stokes is the other) playing in the six BCS conferences to average a double-double. He has led the Pac-12 in rebounding all season and is the leading rebounder among individuals in the BCS Conferences. Solomon ranks 11th in the nation in rebounding.

• Cal owns a 79-78 edge in the all-time series against Washington, including victories in two of its last three games against the Huskies.
