LOS ANGELES – Sophomore Peter Cyr had the top performance for the Cal men’s diving squad Friday (Jan. 10) at the Bruin Diving Invitational in Los Angeles, placing fourth in the three-meter board. Cyr, from Hamden, Conn., led the Golden Bear contingent and had one of the best results of his college career, finished with a score of 621.95 in the three-meter competition after tallying a mark of 298.00 in the prelims.
Other Cal competitors included seniors Tyler Pullen and team captain Grayson Huston. Pullen placed seven with a total score of 601.70 (293.40 in prelims), while Huston was 10th with a score of 499.85 (226.00).
Coach Todd Mulzet’s divers will next compete in the one-meter competition on Saturday, followed by the platform on Sunday. The Bears are competing against divers from UCLA, USC, Utah, UC Santa Barbara, Cal Poly and Wisconsin.
