WALNUT CREEK, Calif. – The California women’s gymnastics team earned a No. 5 seed and will compete in the evening session of the Pac-12 Championships, set for this Saturday, March 22 in Haas Pavilion, the conference office announced today. Cal will compete with Arizona (No. 6 seed), Arizona State (7) and Washington (8) in the 6:30 p.m. PT session, while Utah (1), UCLA (2), Stanford (3) and Oregon State (4) will compete in the afternoon session at 1 p.m. Both sessions will be televised live on the Pac-12 Networks.

Seedings for each team were determined based on the team’s NCAA Regional Qualifying Score (RQS). The RQS is calculated based on the team’s six best regular-season meet scores, with three of the scores coming from away meets. Of the six scores, the highest score is eliminated before the remaining five scores are averaged.

As the host school, Cal received the option to choose whether it competed in the afternoon or evening, with seeds 6-8 placed in whatever session Cal chose. As the highest seed in its session, Cal will begin on vault and compete in Olympic order (continuing to uneven bars, then balance beam and finishing on floor exercise), the most favorable of the four possible orders.

Tickets for the Pac-12 Women's Gymnastics Championships are available now on or by calling (800) GO-BEARS.
