Last Time: Cal Routs Washington, 7-0, in Pac-12 Opener
Sixteenth-ranked California remained perfect against No. 42 Washington at the Hellman Tennis Complex, where the Golden Bears dominated the Huskies, 7-0, on March 15 in Cal’s Pac-12 opener. This marked the Bears’ first match at Hellman since Jan. 25, when they also shut out Washington, 4-0.
The previous victory over the Huskies came in the finale of the ITA Kick-Off Weekend and qualified the Bears for the USTA/ITA National Team Indoor Championships.
This time, Cal did not lose a set to UW in singles, though the Huskies won the court-three doubles match after the Bears had already captured the doubles point. The Bears hadn’t won a doubles point since Jan. 31 against San Francisco. Cal also won two doubles matches against UW – with the third match abandoned – to win the doubles point on Jan. 25.
Cal returns to Berkeley to take on Arizona State on March 28 and Arizona on March 29.
