FLOSSMOOR, ILLINOIS – Incoming freshman KK Limbhasut (74-69-66-69 – 278, -10) capped off an eight-shot victory at the 2014 Western Junior Championship on Friday with a three-under par 69 that was his third consecutive round under 70. Limbhasut started the final round with a two-shot lead that he maintained early on before pulling away on the back nine.

“This is probably the biggest event I’ve won,” Limbhasut said. “I have a lot of momentum going into college. I am very happy with how 2014 is going for me. This win is a great thing for my resume. I was able to minimize mistakes compared to other tournaments while making the same amount of birdies. I am trying to finish my junior career strong and head to Cal for the next chapter.”

Limbhasut (Bangkok, Thailand/Redlands HS) is a member of the 2014-15 recruiting class that will arrive at Cal in August that also includes Sebastian Crampton (Pacific Grove, CA/Robert Louis Stevenson), Ben Doyle (La Jolla, CA/La Jolla HS) and Tanner Hughes (Livermore, CA/Foothill HS).

Doyle (77-71-70-72 – 290, +2) was also in action at the Western Junior Championship, tying for ninth.
