No. 3/4 Cal will open its spring season this Monday-Tuesday, Jan. 27-28 at the Arizona Intercollegiate hosted by Arizona. The event will be played for the first time in its history at the par-71, 7,262-yard Isleworth Golf Club, which was recently opened at Tucson’s Casino del Sol. Cal is returning to competition for the first time in over three months since finishing its fall season with a trio of victories, as well as a third and fourth-place showing in five events. The teams will play 36 holes of the 54-hole stroke-play event on Monday before wrapping up with 18 holes Tuesday. Shotgun starts begin each day at 8 a.m. MT/7 a.m. PT. Each team will field five players with the top four scores each day counting towards the team’s total. Cal players will play in five threesomes along with one player each from New Mexico and USC during Monday’s first and second rounds. Tee times and pairings for Tuesday’s third round will be determined following Monday’s action.
