BERKELEY -- The California softball team heads to Hawaii this week with one goal in mind: get back on track in the tropics. The Golden Bears are coming off a rained out weekend in Riverside and have yet to sweep every single opponent in a weekend tournament, and with five games in this week's slate, Hawaii’s Jack in the Box Spring Fling is Cal’s best shot before the Bears head into Pac-12 play. The action begins Wednesday, March 5 at 8 p.m. PT against hosting Hawaii. On Thursday, the Bears will take on Pacific at 6 p.m., and follow up with a doubleheader on Friday with James Madison at 6 p.m. and Hawaii at 8 p.m. The Bears and the Dukes meet one more time for Cal’s final game of the tourney on Saturday at 2 p.m.

Heavy rain in Southern California cancelled all but one of Cal’s four games at the Mizuno Invitational in Riverside, Calif. The Bears were finally able to take to the diamond on Sunday against Loyola Chicago, eventually falling to the Ramblers 3-2 in extra innings. IN THE POLLS
After receiving votes in both national polls in the past two weeks, the Bears dropped out of the polls completely this week. With a 7-7 record, Cal remains eighth in the Pac-12 in the last week before conference play begins, with UCLA sitting atop the polls as the only undefeated team left in the league.
