From interning in an entomology lab and traveling abroad to attending classes and playing in soccer’s developmental leagues, Cal women’s soccer players found plenty to do during their summer. Today, as the Golden Bears begin their 2014-15 academic year, caught up with each of them to ask: “How did you spend your summer?”

Taylor Comeau: I went to Europe (Sweden, Paris and Italy) and then came back and went straight to Seattle to play for the Seattle Sounders.

Kelsie Dickerson. I interned at an entomology lab on campus and conducted research on pollinator communities in Yolo County (specifically native bees)

Thelma Einarsdottir: I went home to Iceland and played with Selfoss FC with Celeste B. We went on a 10-hour hike through two glaciers in Eyjafjallajökull – one of them erupted in 2010.

Staci Burland: I played club soccer and traveled to Seattle for Nationals.

Tori Bolden: I spent my summer attending Summer BRIDGE here at Cal.
