Cal Football Notebook - Golden Bears Wrap Training Camp

Three weeks of preparation in the books for Saturday's season-opener at Northwestern.

BERKELEY – The Cal football team wrapped up its 2014 training camp Saturday with a workout on Kabam Field at California Memorial Stadium.

Following the workout that included a visit from the Pac-12 Networks for its 2014 Football Training Camp show, the team’s 2014 season captains were announced as Lucus Gingold, Jared Goff, Daniel Lasco, Michael Lowe, Stefan McClure and Brennan Scarlett as team captains for the 2014 season

The team then took part in Golden Bear Day featuring representatives from nearly all of Cal’s 30 intercollegiate athletic programs, Oski, the cheer and dance teams and the Rally Committee.

Cal will be off Sunday before resuming preparation Monday for its 2014 season opener at Northwestern on Saturday, Aug. 30. Kickoff for the ABC/ESPN2 telecast is 2:30 p.m. CT/12:30 p.m. PT.

The Bears will host six games this season on Kabam Field at California Memorial Stadium, starting with the home opener vs. Sacramento State on Saturday, Sept. 6 (Noon, Pac-12 Networks). The Golden Bears will also host Oregon at Levi’s® Stadium in Santa Clara on Friday, Oct. 24 (7 p.m., FOX Sports 1).
