Borrayo is one of Cal’s top offensive linemen and a national awards candidate only five games into his career as the Golden Bears made dramatic improvements on the offensive line after he was inserted into the team’s starting lineup for the final five contests of his redshirt freshman season in 2013. Borrayo is slated to return to his starting spot at left guard in 2014 and is a preseason candidate for the Outland Trophy and Rotary Lombard Award recognizing the nation’s top interior lineman and lineman of the year on either side of the ball, respectively. Borrayo is one of eight returning offensive linemen in 2014 with starting collegiate experience.
