Hinder is in his fifth season at Cal in 2014 coming and projected to be the team’s backup quarterback behind starter Jared Goff. Hinder was the team’s third-string quarterback in 2013 when he lettered for the first time and saw the first action of his career in a limited role, playing in two games off the bench. Hinder completed 1-of-4 passes for 16 yards and ran three times for eight yards. Hinder, who did not play in his first three campaigns (2010-12), was in a three-way competition for the team’s starting quarterback job along with Goff and Zach Kline through the spring of 2013 and into training camp.
