BERKELEY - The Cal men’s soccer program has produced several professional players, including 12 who are currently in Major League Soccer. Here is a look at how the erstwhile Golden Bears are faring in MLS, as the league prepares to resume action after the All-Star break:

David Bingham, goalkeeper (San Jose Earthquakes) - The reserve keeper has not played yet this season for the Quakes.

Calen Carr, forward (Houston Dynamo) - After a successful 2012 season for the Dynamo, Carr is currently rehabilitating his right knee after offseason ACL surgery. He suffered the injury in last season’s MLS Cup. As of early July, Carr was back on the practice field.

Servando Carrasco, midfielder (Seattle Sounders FC) - The midfielder has started 12 of the 14 games he has played. He has also collected one goal and one assist on the season.

Stefan Frei, goalkeeper (Toronto FC) - Frei has yet to record any playing time this season.

Andrew Jacobson, midfielder (FC Dallas) - In midfield, Jacobson has started and played in 17 games this season. He has also scored three goals so far for the Red Stripes.

Hector Jimenez, midfielder (Los Angeles Galaxy) - Jimenez has played in 17 games – starting nine – this season and has scored three goals and two assists so far.

Eric Kronberg, goalkeeper (Sporting Kansas City) - Kronberg has not seen playing time this year.

Steve Purdy, defender (Chivas USA) - In his first year with Chivas, Purdy has provided depth to the defense. He has started and played three games during the season.

Josh Saunders, goalkeeper (Real Salt Lake) - In his first season with Real Salt Lake after seven seasons with the Galaxy, Saunders has started and played in three games thus far. He has recorded 13 saves and posted a 1.56 goals-against average.

A.J. Soares, defender (New England Revolution) - Soares has played in eight games and started seven on the Revs’ backline this year.

Tyson Wahl, defender (Columbus Crew) - Wahl has played in 17 games at left back, starting in 16, in his first year in Columbus. He has recorded one assist.

Andrew Wiedeman, forward (Toronto FC) - Wiedeman has taken the field three times off the bench in 2013 and recorded one goal. That strike came in dramatic fashion, as Wiedeman scored the gamewinner in stoppage time in Toronto’s 2-1 victory over Columbus on July 27.
