BERKELEY – The California women’s golf team will conclude the regular season portion of the schedule by making the short trip up to Napa to compete in the inaugural Silverado Showdown on April 14-15 at the prestigious Silverado Resort and Spa.
The tournament, co-hosted by Colorado and Oregon, debuts this season and will take place on the Silverado Resort North Course, a championship course that will later this year host the first event of the PGA Tour schedule – the Frys.com Open Cup – from October 7-13.
The two-day, 54-hole tournament will feature 15 teams, including nine in the national top 50: USC (1), Arizona (9), Washington (11), Northwestern (20), California (33), Oregon (35), San Diego State (43), UNLV (44), Wisconsin (46), Colorado (52), New Mexico (69), San Jose State (72), Oregon State (73), Washington State (79) and Fresno State (106).
Teams will play 36 holes the first day and 18 holes on Tuesday. Both days of the tournament will begin at 8:30 a.m. with a shotgun start.
COURSE: Silverado Resort North Course (Silverado Resort and Spa) – Napa, Calif.
FORMAT: Two-day, 54-hole tournament with 36 holes the first day and 18 the second. The top-four individuals from each five-member team with the lowest scores for each 18-hole round constitute the scoring members for that given round.
TEE TIMES: There will be a shotgun start both days of the tournament with a tee time of 8:30 a.m. both days.
