TEMPE, Ariz. – For the second consecutive day, a California sophomore matched her career-best 18-hole score as the Golden Bears wrapped up day two action at the PING/ASU Invitational held at the ASU Karsten Golf Course.

Hannah Suh shot a 3-under 69 Saturday afternoon to jump nine spots on the individual leaderboard into a tie for third with just 18 holes remaining at the prestigious tournament that includes nine Top 20 teams. Suh, who hit five birdies on the day with just two bogeys, had the second-best round of the day with her 69 only bested by the 68 shot by Sarah Schmelzel of South Carolina.

The 69 is the best by Suh this season and matches her second round 69 shot at the Spartan Invitational in San Jose last season. She currently sports a 4-under 140 (71-69) at the tournament.

Classmate Carly Childs is in prime position for her third top 20 finish of the season with her 70-75=145 (+1) through 36 holes, good for 19th individually. Childs weathered a rough front nine 40 to counter with three birdies and a bogey on the back nine.

Senior Nicola Rössler and junior Jo Ee Kok both shot 2-over 74’s Saturday and are tied for 42nd with identical 75-74=149’s (+5). Junior Morgan Thompson, in her first tournament since the spring opener in early February, shot an 84 Saturday.

Competition concludes Sunday with tee times beginning at 7:30 a.m.
