ST. GEORGE, Utah – Junior Jo Ee Kok leads the California women’s golf team after two rounds of action Monday at the Entrada Classic hosted by BYU in St. George, Utah.
Kok shot a season-best 75 in the opening round and sits tied for ninth individually with a 157 (+13) after shooting 36 holes Monday at the par-72 Entrada at Snow Canyon Country Club. As a team, the Bears sit sixth with a 308-330=636 (+60), six strokes out of a top three spot heading into the final 18 holes of the tournament.
Kok’s 75 came in an opening round where she sat 1-over through 17 holes before a double-bogey on her final hole of the round – the par-4 2nd – finished her first round with a 75 (+3). Her second round began just as solid before a trio of double-bogeys on the 10th, 13th and 16th pushed her score to an 82 (+10), but the junior remains in the individual top 10 with just 18 holes remaining after 82 of the 84 golfers competing in the tournament all posted scores of 76 or higher in the second round after heavy winds hit the area.
