TEMPE, Ariz. - California women's golf had an 11-stroke improvement Saturday from its opening round performance at the PING/ASU Invitational as regular season competition gets ready to conclude Sunday at the ASU Karsten Golf Course.

Hannah Suh and Carly Childs both had strong second rounds to help the Bears overcome a 15-stroke deficit to end the day tied with Colorado at 39-over (615) over two rounds. The freshman duo both hit two-over 74's Saturday to pace the Bears.

Suh hit four birdies Saturday with 3's on the par-4 first, 13th and 18th holes in addition to hitting a 4 on the par-5 fifth hole. She had one of the best nine-holes of any Bear this weekend after starting the day going even over the back nine before finishing with a 74 to move her two round total to 152 (+8).

Childs one-upped the effort on the front nine by shooting one-under in her final nine holes on the day with birdies on the second, seventh and 13th. The lone blemish in Childs' front nine was a bogey on the ninth hole as the freshman improved seven strokes from her opening round performance.

Morgan Thompson shot a three-over 75 Saturday by hitting par on 11 of 18 holes to improve to 153 (+9) after two rounds. Roberta Roller (79, +7) and Jacqueline Williams (80, +8) concluded Cal's second round efforts.

Competing as an individual, Nicola Rossler continues to have a strong tournament after finishing the back nine one-under before a double-bogey on her final hole of the day - the ninth - finished her round at a three-over 75.

Competition concludes Sunday beginning at 7:30 a.m.
