Santisteban Named To All-Pac-12 First Team

Golden Bear receives conference honor second year in a row

BERKELEY – California junior All-American Kelsey Santisteban was named to the Cross Country All-Pac-12 Conference First Team, the league announced on Tuesday.

Santisteban, who earned All-American honors by placing 10 th in the NCAA Cross Country Championships last week, garnered first team honors after she placed third overall to lead Cal in the Pac-12 Championships on Nov. 2 in Louisville, Colo. She finished the 6,000-meter race in 21:18 to pace the Golden Bears in the conference event.

The junior earned a berth in the NCAA Championships in Terre Haute, Ind. with a time of 19:29 in the 6,000-meter race in the NCAA Regionals in Sacramento. Santisteban finished the prestigious NCAA Championship 10th overall with a time of 20:21.7 in the 6,000-meter race, earning All-American honors.

This marks the second year in a row Santisteban has received league accolades, following her 9th place finish at the 2012 Pac-12 Championship, where she earned Second Team status.

The top seven finishers at the Pac-12 Championships are named to the first team. The eighth through 14th finishers at the Conference Championships are placed on the second team. Athletes names are listed below are in alphabetical order.
