BERKELEY – California junior Kelsey Santisteban will represent the Golden Bears at the NCAA Cross Country Championships this Saturday, Nov. 23, in Terre Haute, Ind. Santisteban will be making her third appearance in the sport’s prestigious event.
The course will be a familiar one for the Golden Bear, who competed at the LaVern Gibson Championship Cross Country Course during the Pre-Nationals event on Oct. 19. She completed the 6,000-mile course in 20:18.45 in October.
“Kelsey had raced intelligently throughout the season so that she's primed for her best at NCAAs,” Sandoval said. “She's raced the course at Pre-Nationals and has run head-to-head with most of the elite runners.”
The race will get underway at approximately 10:15 a.m. (PT). For live results and a video stream of the event, click here.

Santisteban is one of 38 individuals competing in the NCAA Championships, along with 31 teams in event on the women’s side. She was one of four individuals from the West Region competing, joining Boise State’s Emma Bates, Arizona State’s Shelby Houlihan, and Cal Poly’s Laura Hollander.
Last season, Santisteban placed 70th overall in the NCAA Championships at the E.P. Tom Sawyer State Park in Louisville, Ky. with a time of 20:34.5 in the 6,000-meter race.
