This season, California Memorial Stadium is “bringing home the bacon,” offering an expanded menu for fans that will debut at Golden Bears’ home opener this weekend. California Athletics and Cal Dining have partnered together this football season to ensure the best experience for fans as they cheer on their Golden Bears.
“As a part of Cal Athletics’ Gold Standard initiative, we are dedicated to giving our fans the highest level of customer service,” said Associate Director of Business Services Ashwin Puri. “Coming up with new and innovated food options is all part of our goal to enhance the fan experience each year.”
In addition to the classic food options, the stadium will feature 19 new concession items located throughout the concourses, including options for all of Cal’s bacon-loving fans, such as bacon mac n’ cheese dogs, bacon wrapped hot dogs and bacon mac n’ cheese fries. At the Endzone Grill, fans will be able to enjoy the highly anticipated apple fritter bacon cheeseburger.
Fifty Yard Franks, which is located on the west concourse (Sections F-HH), will offer more topping selections for its all-beef hotdogs, such as beef chili and nacho cheese.
Located on the east rim near section TT, Bear BBQ will add barbeque chicken sandwich on a potato roll, topped with coleslaw and a side of kettle chips and dill pickle spear to its menu. Also at Bear BBQ, spectators can find Saag’s hot link sausage, and macaroni salad.
Golden Bear fans can sample a little spice of Mexican cuisine, including chicken taquitos with chips and fresh guacamole at Golden Burrito, and nachos in the east rim (Section TT).
Many people get excited for the classic burger and fries when they go to the stadium, but trends are showing that many want healthy options too. Taking note of Levi's Stadium offering 32 vegan items and touting themselves as the most vegan friendly stadium, California Memorial Stadium will ensure many healthy options are available at The Lighter Side stand in the west concourse (Section HH), including shrimp tempura rolls, Chobani yogurt and Naked Juice.
“Cal Dining is very pleased to add the new additions to the concessions menu,” said Cal Restaurants and Concessions Director of Operations Lucky Vasquez. “We feel these new items will add value and appeal to the diverse Berkeley community, including the palates of our new students as well as our long time Bear Backers.”
Be sure to check out these tasty new Food and Beverage options when the Golden Bears take on Sacramento State in their home opener on Saturday at 12 noon.
