BERKELEY – The Cal football team returned to the field for their 13th practice of 2014 training camp Thursday on Kabam Field at California Memorial Stadium.

Notes from the day included ...

  • Daniel Lasco had another strong day, cranking out a 65-yard touchdown run on the first play of full 11-on-11’s in third-down situations and turning in a 30-yard run during regular 11-on-11 work
  • Luke Rubenzer ended the last two drives of regular 11-on-11 work with a 45-yard touchdown pass to Darius Powe and a 34-yard scoring strike to Erik Brown
  • Darius Allensworth picked off a pass at the goal line to end the offense’s first drive in regular 11-on-11 work
  • Among the visitors at Thursday’s workout was Cal Athletic Hall of Famer and current Cal IMG Sports Network color analyst Mike Pawlawski.

Cal’s next open practice is schedule for Friday (3:30 – 5:15 p.m.). The Golden Bears will continue training camp through Golden Bear Day presented by Bug Zappers Pest Control at Kabam Field at California Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 23 (2-4 p.m. PT). The Bears open the 2014 campaign Aug. 30 at Northwestern and will host six games on Kabam Field at California Memorial Stadium this season, starting with the home opener Sept. 6 vs. Sacramento State. In addition, Cal will play Oregon on Friday, Oct. 24 at Levi's® Stadium in Santa Clara.
