BERKELEY – The Cal football team returned to full pads during an exciting and intense workout Tuesday on Kabam Field at California Memorial Stadium that was the team’s 10th since reporting for training camp on August 3. Highlights and notes from the practice included ...
- A three-play, 165-yard explosion by the offense near the end of full 11-on-11 work when Luke Rubenzer hit Chris Harper for a 50-yard touchdown pass, followed by a 75-yard hookup on a screen pass from Jared Goff to Daniel Lasco and a 40-yard run by Vic Enwere to start the following drive
- A 75-yard touchdown run by Patrick Laird to end the practice
- A defensive play earlier in the 11-on-11 session in which Michael Barton sacked Goff before a leaping interception from Cedric Dozier when Goff threw after the whistle indicating a sack
- A pair of touchdown passes from Chase Forrest to Kyle Wells and Patrick Laird, another from Austin Hinder to Wells and one for 65 yards from Goff to Bryce Treggs during third-down work
Cal’s next practice open to the public is scheduled for Thursday (3:30 – 6 p.m. PT) with the team’s training camp sessions continuing through Golden Bear Day presented by Bug Zappers Pest Control at Kabam Field at California Memorial Stadium on Saturday, Aug. 23 (2-4 p.m. PT).
