Three Bears Earn MPSF All-Academic Honors

McKee, Vowell And Saunders Recognized For Classroom Excellence

BERKELEY – Junior Kelly McKee and sophomores Brooke Vowell and Pippa Saunders were named to the Mountain Pacific Sports Federation All-Academic Team on Friday.

McKee, a Public Health major, has a cumulative GPA of 3.260. Vowell’s GPA is 3.243 and Saunders’ is 3.188. Both are undeclared.

To qualify for the MPSF All-Academic Team, student-athletes must have a cumulative GPA of 3.00 or higher, be at least a sophomore academically and participate in at least 50 percent of the team’s competition during the season.

The Bears finished the 2014 season with a record of 20-10 and advanced to the semifinals of the NCAA Tournament. Cal, which started five freshmen, loses just one senior from this season’s team.
