TULSA, Okla. – California senior Nicola Rössler remains in the individual top 25 as the Golden Bear women’s golf team concluded competition in the second round of the NCAA Women’s Golf Championships held at the Tulsa Country Club.

The Bears (601, +41) shot a 305 Tuesday after beginning the round less than 12 hours after shooting a 296 in the opening round. Cal sits 21st on the team standings with Oklahoma leading the way at 575 (+15). Duke and Arizona State are second and third, respectively, with UCLA, Arizona and USC sitting in a three-way tie for fourth.

Rössler is tied for 24th on the individual leaderboard after 36 holes with a 70-75=145 (+5) after once again navigating the difficult course and windy weather with poise as the lone senior in the Golden Bears lineup. Sophomore Carly Childs had the lowest round of the day for Cal with a 74, bringing her score to a 148 (+8). Childs hit one of three birdies on the day for the Cal golfers with her play on the par-4 5th hole. She sits tied for 43rd individually.

Classmate Hannah Suh shot an 80 Wednesday to move her score to 153 (+13). Suh sat just 2-over through 13 holes before a double-bogey on the par-3 13th and a round-ending score of 8 on the par-4 18th saw her score jump at the conclusion of the day.

Freshman Lucia Gutierrez and junior Jo Ee Kok both improved upon their opening round scores with both carding 78’s Wednesday. Gutierrez now has a 157 (+17) through two rounds while Kok has a 160 (+20).

California tees off beginning at 8:25 a.m. (CT) in Wednesday’s second round on the first hole. The Bears will be paired with NC State and Oklahoma.

COURSE: Tulsa Country Club (6,194 yards, par-70) – Tulsa, Okla.
