COLORADO SPRINGS, Colo. – Cal’s three divers at the NCAA Zone E didn’t qualify for the national championships on the 1-meter springboard Thursday, but the Bears have two more chances on 3-meter and platform in the coming days.
Anne Kastler paced the trio with a score of 252.20, which put her in 19th place among 61 divers in the field. Kahley Rowell was 24th with 248.95 points and Sara-Lina Boushakra took 42nd with a score of 222.70.
On Friday, competition moves to the 3-meter board with platform qualifying on Saturday. Kastler took fourth on the 3-meter at the Pac-12 Championships two weeks ago when she set a school record with 334.15 points, while Rowell was the conference runner-up on platform with a school-record 299.80 total. Rowell is also a two-time All-American on platform, having finished fifth nationally in 2012 and eighth last season.
The NCAA Women’s Swimming & Diving Championships are March 20-22 in Minneapolis.
