Sophomore Anne Kastler, who leads the Bears on both the 1-meter and 3-meter boards, has been named the Pac-12 Diver of the Month for January.
In dual-meet competitions against Arizona State, Arizona, USC and UCLA, Kastler finished no lower than third on either board and picked up 1-meter victories vs. Arizona, USC and UCLA. Her top scores were 295.20 on 1-meter and 321.75 on 3-meter – both season bests – against ASU. In addition, Kastler was second on 1-meter and fifth on platform at the Bruin Invitational early in the month.
Kastler is the second Golden Bear to be honored by the conference this season, as Missy Franklin was the December Swimmer of the Month.
Cal will next be in the pool for the team’s final dual meet of the season when the Bears visit Stanford on Saturday, Feb. 15. The meet starts at 10 a.m. and will be televised by the Pac-12 Networks.
