LOS ANGELES – Senior captain Grayson Huston placed sixth on the Platform Sunday (Jan. 12) to wrap-up Cal’s performances at the Jan. 10-12 Bruin Diving Invitational in Los Angeles. Huston had the Golden Bear’s top score on the final days’ event, tallying a score of 497.30 after a mark of 210.45 in the prelims.
Other results on the platform for coach Todd Mulzet’s squad was sophomore Peter Cyr finishing seventh (492.60) and senior Tyler Pullen was eighth (470.40).
On Saturday, Cyr had his team’s top finish on the one-meter board (fifth) with a score of 582.90 (303.35 in prelims), while Pullen was seventh (570.90, 289.80 in prelims) and Huston placed ninth (497.30, 262.85 in prelims).
During the first day of the three-day event, Cyr had the top performance on the three-meter board. Cyr, from Hamden, Conn., led the Golden Bear contingent and had one of the best results of his college career, placing fourth and finishing with a score of 621.95, after tallying a mark of 298.00 in the prelims.
Pullen had placed seventh with a total score of 601.70 (293.40 in prelims) on the three-meter board, while Huston was 10th with a score of 499.85 (226.00).
Mulzet’s divers will next compete in Pac-12 dual meet competition when the Bears host Arizona State on Friday, Jan. 24 and Arizona on Saturday, Jan. 25. Both dual meets will begin at 12 p.m. at Spieker Aquatics Complex and will be shown on the Pac-12 Networks.
