BERKELEY – The 2014 Cal Football Spring Game is scheduled to be played at Kabam Field at California Memorial Stadium on Saturday, April 26. Admission is free with kickoff slated for 11 a.m. PT. The contest will be televised live by the Pac-12 Networks, which will televise each of the conference’s 12 spring games for the second consecutive season.
The Cal Football Spring Game has become an exciting and fun annual public event that gives thousands of Cal fans a rare opportunity to meet and greet Golden Bear football players and coaches following the game. Former Cal football players have attended the event in the past, including the 2013 contest when NFL All-Pro running back Marshawn Lynch made a surprise appearance. A series of activities in conjunction with the 2014 spring game and practices will be announced at a later time, along with the remainder of the team’s 2014 spring football schedule. Spring practice is expected to begin the week of March 31.
Four of Cal’s 2014 regular-season games have been previously announced, with the Bears hosting Sacramento State (Sept. 6) and BYU (Nov. 29) in Berkeley as well as Oregon in an October 24 Friday night tilt that will be the first collegiate contest at Levi’s® Stadium, the new Santa Clara home of the NFL’s San Francisco 49ers and host of the 50th Super Bowl in 2016.
The Bears, who will host six games in 2014 at Kabam Field at California Memorial Stadium, open the upcoming season August 30 at Northwestern. The remainder of the team’s 2014 schedule is expected to be announced by the Pac-12 in January.
Cal football season-ticket renewals for the 2014 campaign begin Monday, Dec. 16 (9 a.m. PT).
