Three times a day—at 7:50 a.m., noon, and 6 p.m.—
the carillon bells ring out from atop the Berkeley campanile,
and from all corners of campus we can hear the familiar sounds of Cal.
Every fall, the boom of the canon reverberates through the seats in Memorial Stadium.
Every winter, the Cal band put on their straw hats and line the bleachers in Haas Pavilion,
trumpets and drums echoing as the crowd begins to shout, "Go Bears!"
These are the sounds of Cal.
They are always calling us home.
We are Golden Bears.
And our collective support of Cal Athletics and the University of California, Berkeley
is the single most important element
in maintaining the legacy of this extraordinary university
and the 850 student-athletes who help make us great.
