Kastler Takes 7th on 1-meter Board at Texas Meet

Sophomore posts Cal's best finish of the day with platform set for Saturday.

AUSTIN, Texas - Sophomore Anne Kastler recorded California’s best finish in the one-meter springboard final on Friday in the University of Texas Diving Invitational, placing seventh with a score of 284.75. Her best dive of the round was her forward 2 ½ somersault pike, which earned 57.20 points. Texas sophomore Meghan Houston won the event with a score of 327.15.

Kastler was the only Golden Bear to reach the final. She qualified by placing eighth in the preliminary round, recording a score of 281.15. Senior teammate Kahley Rowell was 13th with a score of 257.40, sophomore Sara-Lina Boushakra tallied a score of 246.60 to finish 15th, and freshman Hayden Tavoda notched a score of 240.60 to take 16th place in the prelim.

The three-day meet concludes with the platform competition on Saturday.
