There is a buzz in Berkeley this week as the Bears open the season for the first time as reigning Pac-12 and NCAA Regional Champions. California opens the year Friday night at 6 p.m. against Long Beach State in the first game of a doubleheader with the Cal men. A nationally-televised top-10 clash between No. 2 Duke and the No. 9 Golden Bears follows on Sunday afternoon at Haas Pavilion.
As the opener approaches, the California women's basketball team has made appearances in the community that have led to over 9,000 tickets currently out for Sunday afternoon's contest. Fans can still purchase tickets for $1 to that game, and Cal students are encouraged to take part in an ESPN Sign Contest that could win them free merchandise and the chance to have their sign shown on ESPNU during the game!
First, make your way to Haas Pavilion for Friday night's doubleheader. Fans bringing their Cal-USC football ticket will receive $1 admission, and all others can purchase tickets for $5 that are good for admission to both games!
