Quoting Coach Onstead
“Senior Day is bitter sweet because you don’t want them thinking about being done. You do want to take a moment to reflect. It’s always a neat moment for me because you see so much change in four years. You hope they’ve had a great experience and that they’ve learned a lot. It’s always sad, but it’s a nice moment.”
“I hope we have the same effect we had last year which is we struggled at their place on that surface and we were very focused on playing our game on our surface, and the result took care of itself.”
“Shannon has been a factor from Day One. She was just one of those kids that walked on the field and had an impact as a midfielder. She started at right mid which is a playmaking position and never looked back. She’s been awesome and significant. Other teams always have to worry about her. She’s a leader by example. She’s very hardworking and very competitive.”
“Allie came in as a player that we could have made anything – a midfielder, forward or back. It just sort of happened that we needed her in the backfield, and she’s taken to that really well. She can go forward and have attacking moments. She always sees the field really well. She’s another really steady, earnest kid. She’s bring s a good attitude to the field.”
“Jordan has a little flavor and I rely on it. She’s feisty and settles for nothing. She holds herself to a super high standard. She has done really well with everything on and off the field and has been a rock. I’m going to miss her a lot.”
California travels to the east coast for games against Boston University and Maine next weekend. The Bears play at Boston on Friday, October 25 before taking on Maine in a neutral site game on Sunday, October 27.
